Directions

  1. Start at Forillion National Park in New Brunswick. 
  2. Work your way south down the coast to Kouchibouguac National Park. 
  3. Continue south to Fundy National Park 
  4. Head southeast to St. John and catch the ferry over to Nova Scotia and Kejimkujik National Park. 
  5. Head Up towards Halifax, then make for Cape Jouriman where you can catch the ferry to PEI. 
  6. Prince Edward Island National Park extends 40km along the north coast of the island so you have many options of where to visit. 
  7. Travel south toward the Wood Islands Lighthouse and catch the ferry back to Nova Scotia 
  8. Head east and then north through Nova Scotia until you arrive at Cape Breton Highlands National Park 
  9. From here you can either traverse around the coast of NS (very scenic, rather long) or backtrack to Margaree Forks and make for North Sydney. 
  10. Catch the ferry from North Sydney to Port au Basque Newfoundland. 
  11. Drive North to Deer Lake, then head west to Gros Morne National Park. 
  12. After Gros Morne, take Highway 1 east to Terra Nova National Park. 
  13. Travel back west along Highway 1, hang a right at Deer Lake and head north towards the ferry terminal in St. Barbe. 
  14. Catch the ferry from St. Barbe over to Blanc Sablon. Ferry hop your way down the coast of Quebec to the Mingan Archipelago National Park. 
  15. If you’d prefer not to Ferry hop backtrack to Port au Basque, through Nova Scotia and make for Matane New Brunswick. You can catch a ferry there over to Godbout QC and make your way up along highway 138 to Mingan Archipelago National Park. Both options are roughly the same amount of time. 
  16. From Mingan Archipelago National Park you can take highway 138 to Quebec City and there on to home! 
 
This route connects well to the Eastern Parks route if you’re starting in the east and want to continue heading west.  

Fly-in access only Parks

Akami-Uapishkᵁ-KakKasuak-Mealy Mountains National Park Reserve and 
Torngat Mountains National Park are located in northern Labrador with limited access. 

To visit these parks you’ll need to make special arrangements and logistics.
