Directions
To Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve and Haida Heritage Site
- From Calgary, head northwest through Jasper then take highway 16 towards Prince George.
- From Vancouver, head north on highway 97 to Prince George.
- Continue west on highway 16 until you reach Prince Rupert.
- From Prince Rupert take a ferry over to Skidegate on Graham Island.
To Wood Buffalo National Park
- Take Highway 2 North
- Continue North until you get to Hay River NWT
- Go East on Highway 5 until you reach Wood Buffalo National Park.
To Kluane National Park
Take Highway 2 North and aim for Dawson Creek BC.
- Here you’ll find Mile 0 of the Alaskan highway (or “ALCAN”)
- Stay on the Alcan all the way to Haines Junction

One long route?!
If you’re up for it, you can combine all three of these Northern Road accessible parks into one giga route! Calgary -> Gwaii Haanas -> Kluane -> Wood Buffal0 -> Calgary is perhaps the largest ratio of road to parks in the whole quest!
