Pacific Rim
Gulf Islands
Directions
There are only two parks in the Pacific route (unless you want to add on Gwaii Hanas, which is long way up north!).
- If you’re flying in start in Victoria as both parks are located on Vancouver Island.
- Drive North to Crofton and catch the Ferry to Salt Spring Island
- Cross the island to Long Harbour and catch the ferry to Lyall Harbour on Saturna Island. You can’t book this route, you pay at the ferry when you arrive.
- Catch the ferry back to Vancouver Island and head west on Highway 18 until you arrive at Pacific Rim National Park.
While the driving distance is short, the time is fairly long. This is due to the travel by ferries to get to Gulf Islands and back.
If you’re going to take the ferry north to Gwaii Hannas drop the last leg back to Victoria and head north to Port Hardy. The only other option is to head inland back to Hope BC then drive north from there. Either way it’s a long trip.
