Find your way.

We’ve put together some suggested routes that can help you on the way.

The routes are organized geographically and bundle together the parks that make the most sense. You can link up different routes if you want to expand a trip, and if you’re really enterprising you can work from coast to coast to coast!

We live in Calgary so the Mountain Parks are really easy for us to access and made a great first destination for this project. We suggest you start with with a Park near you to get the feel for what your visiting style is like. Once you have a few local Parks under your belt it’s a great time to expand your horizons.

We’ve put these routes together as suggestions of which parks can be visited at the same time. We live in Calgary and so most of the routes assume you’re starting there, if you’re starting from somewhere else then you may need to make adjustments. Some of the parks are all by themselves and so they get their own route. You could put Gwaii Hannas and Kluane together since they’re sort of in the same region, but it’s still a lot of driving in between! Access to Wapusk is from Churchill Manitoba, which itself is only accessible by plane or train.

There are 13 parks in the Arctic which are all fly in, I’ve grouped these together since they require special trip planning and logistics. The Arctic parks see very few visitors each year, you’ll need to have strong wilderness experience and all your logistics planned out to visit these parks.

Here are the routes we’ve put together to complete the journey of visiting all the Canadian national parks.
